=NEWS=

Jan 18 2005: Please post a link to your new story here in the news section - and feel free to make a page for yourself that describes yourself if you wish ( or link to your home page ). While I guess this project is mostly anonymous and kind of 'for fun' - it probably doesn't hurt for us to know each other a little bit (I just want to avoid people feeling too much ownership over the ephemeral ideas here because we should all free free to collectively own and rework bits and pieces that we like regardless of who made them). - anselm

=Eversea=

Eversea is an exercise in writing about a post technological society where technology has completely sublimated into the self.

People no longer use terms like 'cellphone' or 'machine' but rather biological terms such as 'talked' or 'seen' and introducing new terms only where needed to disambiguate.

In this future world humans are somewhat alien. They do not have the same needs or hungers as humans today - their fundamental embodiment differs. This means that some of the sympathies and moral structure that we view as important is simply irrelevant to them. For example where we may choose to enshrine human life, they may not have the same perception, perhaps selecting for more broad goals such as maximizing biodiversity instead.
